Piston Service Hub was established in 2011 by a small group of senior advisors who believed that Japan's business community deserved a consultancy that combined the highest international standards of rigour with a genuinely Japanese approach to relationships — patient, respectful, and oriented toward long-term outcomes rather than short-term metrics.

Over the following fifteen years, we grew steadily and deliberately, expanding our capabilities in digital transformation and organisational development without ever compromising the quality of counsel we provide.     Foundation in Minato-ku, Tokyo

    Piston Service Hub is established by five founding partners with backgrounds in management consulting, corporate finance, and organisational psychology. The firm opens its first office at Roppongi, Tokyo, with an initial team of twelve professionals.

  2. 2014
    Expansion of Service Portfolio

    Following strong client demand, the firm formally establishes its Digital Strategy and Organisational Development practices, broadening its service offering beyond its original focus on management consulting and business process improvement.

  3. 2017
    Osaka Office Inaugurated

    A second office opens in Osaka to serve clients in the Kansai region, bringing the total headcount to 60 professionals. The firm is recognised for the first time in a leading Japanese business publication as one of the country's notable advisory boutiques.

    Resilience Through a Global Disruption

    The COVID-19 pandemic reshapes client priorities, and Piston Service Hub responds by accelerating its digital transformation capabilities and supporting clients through complex operational continuity challenges. The firm achieves its strongest revenue year to date.

  5. 2023
    Launch of the Asia-Pacific Advisory Practice

    Recognising growing demand for cross-border advisory services, the firm establishes a dedicated Asia-Pacific practice focusing on market entry, regulatory compliance, and M&A advisory. Strategic alliances are formed with partner firms in Singapore and Seoul.

  6. 2026
    Fifteenth Anniversary & Continued Growth

    Piston Service Hub marks its fifteenth year with 120 professionals, more than 380 client organisations served, and an expanded advisory practice. The firm reaffirms its commitment to principled, long-term advisory relationships as the foundation of all future growth.
